Eithna Hyland
At Forum 2011, Ethna Hyland spoke about her personal experiences of dealing with death, under the heading "Let us Remember how we Once Dealt with Death".
Ethna was born in June 1948. She grew up in Ballyfermot, Dublin, with her parents,
one brother and one sister. She married Tom in March 1973 and they moved to
Blanchardstown where they reared two sons. Eithna had three still birth babies
between 1974 and 1982.
The Hylands
moved to Co Meath in 1995 where they ran a successful coach business. Eithna’s husband
Tom died from cancer in June 2007. Since then, she has returned to college and is
currently studying for a diploma in Complementary Therapy. She is also involved in A Little Lifetime Foundation,
which helps provide support and information to bereaved families of still birth
babies.
