The Forum’s Work Schedule

Following the launch in Dublin on March 11, there will be a series of formal workshops and public meetings.

These will be chaired by significant public figures and a small panel who will explore the issues raised by organisations and individuals.

Written submissions can be sent to submissions@endoflife.ie or to Paul Murray, Forum Coordinator, Irish Hospice Foundation, 32 Nassau Street, Dublin 2.

Agencies can also meet representatives of the Forum to outline the priority end- of- life issues they have identified.

The Forum will conclude at the end of 2009 and a series of regional consultations will be organised during 2010. A final report is expected to be published by 30th April 2010. A National Coalition will then be established to advance the vision and action plan which emerge from the work of the Forum.

This website will provide updates on the work of the Forum, the submissions made by participants, and significant dates for workshop sessions for various interest groups and individuals.

The Forum workshops will be divided into various modules to include various interest groups:

  • Health and Social Care Module: hospice and palliative care, statutory health related agencies, specific illness groups, medical, nursing and specialist organisations.
  • Economic and Social Module: social partners, business, churches, social groups
  • Public Policy Module: Oireachtas members, political parties, human rights, Government departments, sports, media, security.
