Michael O'Reilly

Forum 2011 was closed by Michael O’Reilly, Chairman of the Irish Hospice Foundation. He began a second term with the IHF board in 2010, having previously served between 2002 and 2005.

He is a lawyer who practiced commercial law in the 1980s and subsequently set up a financial services business in Shannon which he later moved to Dublin. In 1997 he was appointed by the Government to the board of the National Gallery of Ireland and was chairman when his term came to an end in 2002.

In recent years, he has spent much of his time in the Balkans doing both legal and political work but he has now returned to live in Ireland. He is married to Patricia Stewart and they have three adult children.
